#Repost @instagram ・・・ Walls of hovering clouds. Slashes of lightning. Brush fires voraciously consuming the landscape. As a storm chaser for Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald, Nick Moir (@nampix) is accustomed to showing his audience the world as they’ve never seen it, but he also enjoys highlighting nature’s gentler moments. “People have the idea that photojournalists, that we’re all hard-nosed, that we don’t care about anything but war and destruction, but it’s not the case at all,” Nick says. “We all have a deep love of the world around us.” On Instagram, Nick experiments in a way that isn’t possible inside mainstream media. “I can put stuff out there and it’s a great way to judge what’s worth pursuing.” The newspaper may not put a seal basking under a rainbow or an insect’s-eye view of a tree on its front page, but it’s an image Nick’s fans wouldn’t want to miss.
